Family Participation And Volunterring
At ACE, the community is more than just families whose kids attend the same school. Our community is one in which parent/family involvement is a cornerstone of our school. Parents/Grandparents/Guardians choose to enroll their children in ACE because they want to be active participants both inside and outside of the classroom. Our program was founded on the principle this involvement is critical for student success. We welcome parents, grandparents, and any other significant family member. There is always a way to get involved and if you can't think of any that fit your busy schedule, we will can help you with that! All volunteers will need to be fingerprinted through Vacaville USD.
We suggest families volunteer:
- 1 child = 8 hours per month,
- 2 children = 10 hours per month,
- 3 children = 12 hours per month.
Please log your volunteer hours using the this link. Logging your hours promptly allows us to maintain accurate accounting of volunteer hours performed.

Fingerprinting
Due to the high level of involvement of parent/grandparent/guardian volunteers in the ACE classrooms, adult volunteers must be fingerprinted by the Vacaville Unified School District before chaperoning a field trip, leading or helping with Service Club, Kinderclub, Friday math games, Multicultural Days, or otherwise being with one or more children in the absence of a teacher at any time.
Instructions for Fingerprinting
- Applications are available in the school office.
- Volunteer completes application and returns it to the office/gives back to secretary.
- Volunteer waits 48 hours and then returns to office to pick up signed form from secretary.
- Volunteer takes form to Educational Services Center to be fingerprinted. (You are welcome to show up during business hours or call ahead to see if there is a wait time.)
- Volunteer must wait for the secretary to call with results/clearance. This process can take days/weeks/months so please be patient.
- Volunteer may not work unsupervised with students until phone call from secretary. You may call our school secretary to check your status if you feel the wait seems long.
